This picture of Bill Gates and I was taken just days after he was named the Richest Man in the World...  the first time... wouldn't you be smiling too? 

One of the most memorable "run in's" I had with Mr Gates was one day I was showing a vacant lot on the 2nd fairway (just past the dogleg right) and a golf ball came whizzing by clients and I who were standing several feet into the trees.  A moment later Bill Gates pulled up in his golf cart, asked me if I saw his ball.  I said that was very close to being a very expensive shot (literally missed me by a foot).  Then we spent 3-4 minutes shoulder to shoulder with the richest man in the world, looking for his $2 golf ball in the trees.  He gave up, took his penalty, then proceeded down the fairway!

There was just something surreal about standing in the brush with the wealthiest man in the world, looking for a golf ball.  Obviously, Semiahmoo is one of his favorites!

(yes, eventually, my hair left the decade of the 80's... now it's just leaving!) ;-)
